Children & Youth Ministry Assistant

First Presbyterian Church of Cartersville is looking for a Children & Youth Ministry Assistant (pay is $20/hour).

Our children & youth typically meet on Sundays for Sunday School (10-11 a.m., with worship at 11) and Youth Group on Sunday evenings (4-6 p.m. or 5-6:30 p.m.). The ideal candidate could be present at church from 9 a.m. – noon and a block of time between 3:30-6:45 p.m. on most Sundays. The candidate would plan and provide a children’s church during worship, only during the sermon. We also have various youth group activities and church events throughout the year (VBS, Fall Festival, Youth Group Trips, Lock-ins, Summer Youth trips to Montreat, etc.) where you would be expected to attend.

This person will also need to pass a background check, done privately, online through our church’s Background check company. Both the Director of Children & Youth Ministries as well as the Senior Pastor, are Columbia Theological Seminary Graduates with MDivs. This position like this could work as a Contextual Education Position or just a part-time position. In the past, it has just been a part time position, but we are open to talk more about it being an actual supervised ministry opportunity. We are also open to discussing a travel stipend.
