*Director of Youth Ministries – Christ Church
Christ Church is a dynamic and growing non-denominational church founded in
2023 as an independent congregation with an evangelical Wesleyan theology. We
are seeking an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic Director of Youth
Ministries to join our team. In this vital role, the Director of Youth Ministries will
teach and lead our young people as they are influenced to grow in their knowledge
of and love for Jesus Christ and his teachings.
*Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for Director of Youth Ministry at Christ Church is a spiritually
mature, Christ-centered leader with a genuine passion for engaging and discipling
junior and senior high school students. This individual will demonstrate a vibrant
personal faith, a strong understanding of Scripture, and a heart for nurturing young
people as they grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. The ideal candidate is a
gifted relational builder and communicator who can connect authentically with
youth, families, volunteers, and church leadership, fostering a safe and welcoming
ministry environment. This person will also bring creativity, organization, and
energy to developing meaningful programs, mentoring volunteers, and partnering
with parents, while modeling integrity, humility, and servant leadership. Experience
directing a youth ministry program - or a closely related field—is strongly preferred,
along with a collaborative spirit and a willingness to grow, learn, and innovate within
the mission and values of Christ Church.
*Job Overview
The Director of Youth Ministries is responsible for overseeing the
development of and provide direction for all programs and people aimed at
the discipleship of students in grades 7-12 at Christ Church. The director is
responsible for leading and organizing effective youth programs implementing
fellowship, worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, and evangelism, as well
as ministry and mission opportunities.
*Skills, Experience, and Education
• Bachelors or seminary degree in ministry, education or related field.
• Previous experience leading a youth ministry program is strongly
preferred
• 4-5 years of ministry experience preferred.
• Exhibits a personal and growing relationship with God, a teachable
spirit, and a healthy family life.
• Gifted and Called to Youth Ministry
• Possesses basic administrative skills
• Capable of creating and executing a long-term vision
• Ability to lead staff members and a team of volunteers
*Job Duties/Responsibilities
• Develop and coordinate Bible teaching content/curriculum for weekly
meetings.
• Preach every other week during Sunday/Wednesday night worship & small
groups.
• Plan and implement big events including Fall Retreat, Winter Retreat, and
Mission Trips (Mexico and Summer).
• Plan fun activities/games for weekly programming as well as "special"
activities that take place occasionally throughout the year.
• Recruit volunteers to serve as small group leaders and other roles within
youth ministry.
• Oversee communication with youth and parents (Email, text, and social
media).Other Information
• Compensation: Based on a work week of 40-hour work week compensation
is from the high-50s to mid-60s depending on qualifications and experience.
• Benefits: The position comes with a full range of benefits including group
health and dental coverage, vision insurance, employer provided long- and
short-term disability insurance, health savings account, 403(b) retirement
plan, 11 paid holidays, and paid-time-off. Church offices are closed on
Fridays.
• Remote Work: The church allows for up to 50% of work to be performed
remotely with the remainder onsite, subject to the business needs of the
church.
