Director of Youth Outreach Ministry (Part-Time)

Position Summary
Dacula UMC is seeking a part-time Director of Youth Outreach Ministry (20–25 hours/week) to lead a dynamic and relational ministry for students in grades 6–12. The ideal candidate will build relationships with youth inside and outside the church, strengthen partnerships with local schools and community organizations, and create meaningful opportunities for spiritual growth and discipleship.
This position is funded through a two-year BEAT Grant from the North Georgia Conference, with the goal of establishing a sustainable, long-term ministry role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead weekly programming for middle and high school students (Sunday and midweek gatherings).
- Build relationships with students and families through intentional outreach, mentoring, and pastoral care.
- Partner with local schools to engage youth in the wider community.
- Collaborate with the pastor, staff, and volunteers to integrate youth into the full life of the church.
- Recruit, equip, and support a team of youth ministry volunteers and student leaders.
- Plan and coordinate retreats, mission opportunities, and service projects.
- Nurture a culture of inclusion, welcome, and belonging—reflecting the diversity of our surrounding community.
- Maintain clear communication with parents and the congregation about upcoming events and opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
- A growing personal faith in Jesus Christ and alignment with the theology and mission of The United Methodist Church.
- Experience leading or volunteering in youth ministry or related fields (education, counseling, campus ministry, etc.).
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to connect across generations and cultures.
- A passion for community engagement and outreach.
Hours and Compensation
- Status: Part-time (20–25 hours/week)
- Compensation: $24,000 per year (two-year grant-funded position; goal of long-term sustainability)
- Start Date: January 2026 (or as soon as available)
- Reports to: Pastor – Rev. Dr. Jeff Rogers
