Re:mix Youth Associate Director
Position Summary
The Re:mix Youth Ministry Associate Director is primarily a position of relational
ministry and discipleship. This individual will work in partnership with our Youth
Ministry Director and Youth Ministry Logistics Coordinator to champion our growing
youth ministry initiatives, providing a safe place for our middle and high school
students to “discover and live out their role in God’s story.” Lake Forest Church
believes in the importance of having spaces where students’ faith can grow alongside
peers, leaders, and other adults, allowing a safe place to ask questions and be
themselves. We are looking for someone who can build upon the existing church-wide
vision of youth ministry.
The ideal candidate will possess a Christlike love for teenagers, a heart for discipling
them in their faith journey, and a deep appreciation for the vital role the local church
plays in helping young people grow in their faith and remain rooted in Christ. This
candidate would envision staying in this role for 3+ years to ensure consistent
leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Ministry Engagement
- • Helps cultivate a safe and welcoming environment, where students experience
belonging through the love of Jesus
- • Builds meaningful relationships with students through regular contact, mentoring, and
presence at events
- • Constructs fresh, creative ideas to engage students
- • Partners with parents and caregivers to support students’ spiritual growth through
consistent communication
- • Integrates students into the overall life and mission of Lake Forest Church
Program Development
- • Assists the Youth Ministry Director in planning, organizing, and executing re:mix
weekly programming, events, retreats, events, mission trips, and camps
- • Leads a weekly Bible study for middle school students and high school students
- • Oversees and leads service projects and outreach opportunities (Urban Plunge,
quarterly service projects, partnerships with schools)
- • Meets weekly with the youth ministry team to pray, cast vision, and execute all things
re:mix
- • Oversees maintenance of re:mix equipment
Volunteer Leadership
- • Connects regularly with re:mix leaders and student leaders
- • Builds volunteer teams through recruiting and helping facilitate trainings
- Ideal Candidate
- • Does not take themselves too seriously, but takes Jesus seriously
• Growing faith in Jesus Christ
- • 3+ years in youth ministry
- • Demonstrates humility, integrity, and a servant’s heart in their leadership style
- • Excellent communicator and speaker; public speaking experience preferred
- • Outstanding relational skills and proven ability to motivate and develop people
- • Collaborative and team-oriented
- • Ability to be both organized and flexible in planning and executing events
- • Self-motivated and dependable with strong initiative and follow-through
- • Strategic in time management and handling multiple tasks
- • Genuine passion for youth ministry and spiritual development
- • Passionate about the vision and mission of Lake Forest Church
Educational Requirements
• College Degree; seminary is a plus
